The Ghana donations have been our greatest outreach so far. After partnering with Girls Flow Free, we began to realize how great of a need there was in other places around the world. Over the course of two years, we have sent around 30,000 pads to two schools in Ghana, each with 100 girls who are deprived of access to menstruation products.
Here at Girlz4Pads, we're dedicated to fighting period poverty and ensuring menstrual hygiene is accessible to all. Our chapter at Hoshyari Devi Girls Inter College in India is a shining example of this mission in action. It's not just our most extensive effort; it's a powerful story of education, empowerment, and community impact.
1. Distributing Pads and Breaking the Stigma**
Our work at Hoshyari Devi goes beyond simply providing menstrual pads. We understand that access is just one piece of the puzzle. Period poverty is often rooted in a lack of education and social stigma. That's why we prioritize educating the school students about menstrual hygiene. This knowledge empowers them to manage their periods with confidence and dignity, and it paves the way for them to become advocates for menstrual health in their surrounding villages.
2. Reaching Beyond School Walls
Hoshyari Devi Girls Inter College serves as a hub for positive change. By partnering with the school, we're able to distribute menstrual pads not just to the students but also to the girls in nearby villages. This ensures a wider reach and a greater impact on the community's overall well-being.
3. Creativity for a Cause: The Friendship Bracelet Initiative
Education and access are crucial, but funding is essential to sustain our efforts. Here's where our innovative friendship bracelet initiative comes in! We held a competition where the girls designed and created beautiful bracelets. When these bracelets are sold, the proceeds directly support Girlz4Pads and funding the purchase of more menstrual hygiene products. It's a win-win: the girls have a chance to grow their entrepreneurial spirit while contributing to a cause they care about.
4. A Ripple Effect of Change
Girlz4Pads' collaboration with Hoshyari Devi Girls Inter College is more than just providing pads and education. It's about creating a ripple effect of positive change. By empowering girls with knowledge and access to menstrual hygiene products, we're not just breaking the cycle of period poverty; we're fostering a healthier, more confident generation of young women who can become champions for menstrual health in their communities.

Girlz4Pads (girlz4pad.org) recently made a meaningful impact by donating 5000 pads to the Hogar Guadalupe orphanage in Asunción, Paraguay. This contribution will support young women and girls in need, ensuring they have access to essential menstrual hygiene products. By addressing this fundamental need, Girlz4Pads is promoting dignity and empowerment within the community, demonstrating the importance of supporting girls' well-being worldwide.
